Teen build your own home workout

Are your teens wanting to start working out and lifting weights from home?

Then this is the workshop for them!

This 2 and a half-hour workshop is designed for teens that have a keen interest in fitness, building strength, muscle and increasing their cardio. It will also be great for anyone who is interested in a career in sport, health or fitness.

Together we will go through the best way to structure a workout to suit their goals, focusing on what exercises to group together and at what weight and rep range is ideal for them. We will also discuss when to do cardio and go through what stretches to do in cool down.

Nutrition will also be briefly covered so they know how to fuel their body pre and post-workout!

They will get to structure their own workout before giving it a try under the watchful and knowledgeable eyes of our head trainers Chad Dawson and Shane Barker.

This is a great way for them to learn proper techniques and make some real like-minded friends in the community!

Retreat for the chakras

Join studio owners Chad and Anita for an afternoon of yoga and meditation to balance and align your chakras, this 2.5-hour soul session is designed to recharge your energy system and leave you feeling completely blissed out!

In Sanskrit, the word “chakra” means “disk” or “wheel” and refers to the energy centers in your body. These wheels or disks of spinning energy each correspond to certain nerve bundles and major organs.

To function at their best, your chakras need to stay open, or balanced. If they get blocked, you may experience physical or emotional symptoms related to a particular chakra.

There are seven main chakras that run along your spine. They start at the root, or base, of your spine and extend to the crown of your head - In this 2.5-hour workshop, we will use the power of yoga, breathwork, and meditation to balance and align these 7 chakras leaving you feeling energized, happy, connected and just better in general.

Teen - Sports Specific Bootcamp

Run by our Fitness coach Shane Barker - Shane has dabbled in a wide range of sports from, football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, athletics and weight lifting. Shane has been working in the health and fitness industry for the last 3 years, helping teens to improve their sporting abilities, increase speed and agility, put on lean muscle mass and build strength, lose weight, improve flexibility and become mentally more focused!

Shane has a deep understanding on how to push you enough to reach your goals while keeping each and every session unique and fun! He is passionate about helping teens feel comfortable and push through those barriers to become happier and more confident within themselves and build a strong body and stronger mind!

Shane is a qualified personal trainer, group fitness instructor and boxing coach and has worked on his mental and physical capabilities over the last 5 years. Taking part in this bootcamp with shane, you can expect to learn all the tips and tricks to not only improve your game but also staying in shape over the off season and building healthy long lasting habits!

Shane currently volunteers for a Teen Football team and has been working closely with the team for 3 years to help them be stronger, fitter, healthier and more confident players! He knows the games fitness components inside and out and is passionate to get the most out of each player and improve their footy!

A journey into yoga and meditation

For the very first time - Join studio owners Chad and Anita on a two and a half hour journey through yoga and meditation!

In this time together, we will explore a invigorating hatha/vinyasa flow to get the heart pumping and fresh new blood flowing through the body, we will then start to take it down a notch and treat the body to a series of nice, deep stretches, by introducing yin yoga, followed by a couple of perfectly thought out restorative poses to help you to feel nurtured and connected while being guided through a visualisation meditation to end the afternoon.

Join Shane Barker from Universal Balance for this 8 week strength and conditioning program designed for the U15 Modbury Hawks team.

Shane has worked closely with the team providing fitness training and recovery for the players and is looking to further their development by providing football specific training.

This is the age that their bodies start to change and a really crucial time for them to start focusing on building strength and developing confidence from within.

This program is designed to increase the skills required in a football game and work on the team collectively to build their team morale and improve your child's strength, speed, agility, endurance and explosiveness.

When?:
Tuesdays and Fridays for an 8 week period starting on Tuesday the 14 September through to Friday the 5th of November.

Tuesday sessions will be held 4:30-5:30pm
Friday sessions will be held 4pm-5pm

Yoga and Sound Bath

What’s better than a lazy sunday afternoon with yoga? A lazy Sunday afternoon with yoga and sound healing!

Join us for this two hour event that showcases our style of yoga. We will start with a brief vinyasa/hatha flow to help bring the heat to the body and breath, followed by our own style, yinstorative (which is a mix between yin and restorative yoga) to really help stretch the body and release any tension or strain from within, leaving you feeling completely relaxed, rejuvenated and ready to really soak up the healing vibes of the sound bath where we will surround you in the vibrations from the crystal bowls, shamanic drum, rain stick, babbling brook and chimes to help heal you on a much deeper level! We will then conclude the arvo with a raw treat and cup of herbal tea.

Hibernate and Restore Yoga

Winter is nature’s time of hibernation, retreat, and contraction. As winter’s cold, wet, dark, and heavy qualities increase around us, they grow within us as well.

Nature demands that we insulate more as winter encourages us to wear more layers, stay inside, and do fewer activities outdoors. We are urged to move inward for rest and replenishment, just as the earth stops producing in order to build a new reserve and be bountiful again in the spring.

Start your journey into winter with a restorative yoga evening that will help you to warm the body, create circulation, encourage elimination, and cultivate inward awareness and receptivity without expending unnecessary energy or depleting ourselves.

Remember--as you take care of yourself this winter know that you are nourishing yourself for more than the present moment. For how you nurture yourself throughout winter, will dictate how you bloom up in spring.

In ancient times, women used to gather regularly ‘in circle’ to share stories, love and wisdom. Reviving these sacred women’s gatherings is one way of reviving parts of our feminine nature and lineage that have been lost or ‘misplaced’ in today’s modern world.

A women’s circle is an opportunity to pause the demands of the outside world and come together for a greater connection, not only with ourselves but like-minded women. We welcome one another just as we are, to listen, to witness and to hold space for each other as we flow with the ebbs and flows of our lives

How will joining a Circle help me?

A chance to connect with yourself and other women in a deep and authentic manner

An opportunity to be seen and heard for who you truly are

An opening to understand and embody the beauty, power and mystique of the woman within

What to expect during the Circle?

We literally sit in a circle around a beautiful alter that I create using the different elements of nature. Each circle will follow a particular theme and and will include ‘sharing’ and ‘practice.’ During the ‘sharing’ part, each woman will bring her own experience and input to the group and during the ‘practice’ I will introduce some rituals, exercise, meditation or activity that helps us to embody the theme.

The event will include journaling, meditation, hands on energy healing and a safe, judgment free space for discussion and self-exploration followed by chocolate dipped strawberries, herbal tea and wine (it is a Friday night after all!)
