Krav Maga Workshops
We are so passionate about Krav Maga as it is an effective martial arts/self-defence suited to real life situations. Teaching you confidence and improving fitness you will also learn how to avoid conflict and if not avoidable you will be taught how to use appropriate force. This simple yet affective system consists of strike, locks, holds, weapon disarming and escapes from grabs and holds.
With years of experience in mastering the art of Krav Maga, our instructor Chad is super excited to add Krav maga Self defence systems to our Timetable. Chad is very passionate about empowering our clients with the knowledge and ability to defend themselves from real-world situations and to teach a system that is highly learnable for everyone including children.
We also offer children's classes in Krav maga for children aged 4 and up. These classes are vital for building the foundation of Krav maga for the future generation.
So what is krav maga?
Krav Maga is a military self-defence and fighting system developed for the Israeli defence force (IDF) and Israeli security forces that derived from a combination of techniques sourced from boxing, wrestling, karate, judo, aikido and karate along with realistic fight training.
Krav Maga is known for its focus on real-world situations and its extreme efficiency. It was derived from the street-fighting experience of Hungarian-Israeli martial artist Imi Litchinfield who made use of his training as a boxer and wrestler while defending the Jewish quarter against fascist groups in Bratislava Czechoslovakia, during the mid-to-late 1930s. In the late 1940s, following his migration to Israel, he began to provide lessons on combat training to what was to become the IDF.
From the outset, the original concept of Krav Maga was to take the most simple and practical techniques of other fighting styles (originally European boxing, wrestling and street fighting) and to make them rapidly teachable to military conscripts.
Krav Maga has a philosophy emphasizing aggression and simultaneous defensive and offensive manoeuvres. Krav Maga has been used by the Israel Defence Forces' special forces units, the security apparatus, and by regular infantry units. Closely related variations have been developed and adopted by Israeli law enforcement and intelligence organizations. There are several organisations teaching variations of Krav Maga internationally.
Krav Maga is available for Children aged 4 and up and for private one on one or small group bookings.
